Stanton Roush, 60, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 4:45 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, in his residence.

 

A service to celebrate Stanton’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, (April 28, 2011) at the Macon United Methodist Church.   Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (April 27, 2011) at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. Burial will be in South Macon Township Cemetery. Memorials can be made to D.M.H. Hospice or Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.

 

Mr. Roush was born on April 18, 1951 in Decatur, IL the son of Roy E. and Shirley Pritts Roush.  He married Roxanne King on May 23, 1980.  Stanton worked for Firestone for 17 years and thereafter worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Decatur Concrete Recycling.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid Waterfowl hunter.

 

Surviving are his wife, parents and children: daughter Kelly Piche and husband Christopher of Edwardsville, IL; son Kory Roush of Hazleton, PA; daughter Megan Jesse and husband Brad of Macon, IL; brother: Michael Roush and his wife Rhonda, of Decatur, IL; sisters: Jane Baker and her husband Don of Macon, IL and Sherry Roush and her fiancé Gary Arnold of Macon, IL;  also are two granddaughters, Kate Piche and Sydney Jesse.

 

Stanton was preceded in death by his brother Steven Roush.
